After several years as a trendsetter for the medium and entry-level segment of the wine market, Murfatlar Romania launched M1.Crama Atelier in 2011, a micro winery project established to produce premium and super-premium wines.
Following an investment of 550,000 euros, one of the wings from Murfatlar winery was transformed into M1.Crama Atelier and equipped with a modern technological line, stainless steel tanks and new oak barrels.
Because special projects need special professionals, in M1.Crama Atelier team was brought as a wine-consultant, Razvan Macici, Cellar Master at the Nederburg Winery, South Africa, probably the most famous Romanian winemaker worldwide. Holder of the title of “The Best South African winemaker” in 2012 and producer of the wines for “World Cup 2010 South Africa”, Razvan Macici agreed to put his “mark” and the signature on our wine.
With a processing capacity of 250,000 liters a year (170,000 liters in stainless steel tanks and 600 small oak barrels Romanian, with a capacity of 300 liters each), the winery became the “workshop” of Razvan Macici and his team, the place where experiments are made to create a portfolio of wines that can satisfy the widest possible range of tastes.
Crama Atelier’s wines are terrier wines produced in a modern, New World style, balanced, fruity and denser. Our wines are classified into several collections, with different target audience: Sable Noble, Arezan, Leat 6500 The Origin, footprint, Charme de la Mer and Fatum.
